Emily Sadecki is going into her senior year at Drake University in Des Moines pursuing a dual degree in journalism and biochemistry, cell and molecular biology. This intersection has led her to investigate the narratives of health and science, including that of innovation. Through work at a molecular research company, Mayo Clinic, the Iowa Department of Public Health and other spaces, she has gained perspective of the roles that a myriad of institutions play in health care.
Some of her favorite things include public transportation, Northern Minnesota and peanut butter. In her free time, she enjoys tending to her community garden plot, exploring her current city of residence and catching up with friends over coffee.
