29 Feb Everyone Has Solutions; Few Have A Solution

We hear it on a daily basis, “Here is our solution. We have a solution. Our technology is the best solution.”
Everyone has “solutions.”
There are so many solutions in the health and care space that I am surprised that we have any problem left to be solved.
The dictionary defines the word solution as the state of being solved. An answer to a problem.
Me being a science geek with a chemistry and physics background made me think of a slightly different context and use, a solution.
In chemistry a solution is a homogeneous mixture composed of two or more substances. A solution is stable. A solute from a solution cannot be seen by the naked eye. It cannot be separated by filtration.
Maybe in health and care we have been thinking about “solutions” incorrectly?
Many seem to have answers…..but few have a way to connect two or more things together that lead to a symbiotic ecosystem of health and care.
Yet the symbiosis of health and care is what we all seek.
The path to that future is led by people as patients, partnering with physicians, and redesigning the health and care ecosystem.
Keep your solutions, I prefer to mix a solution.
